Anatomical filigree ear piece – Trickle

250,00

The ear piece is handcrafted from silver wire using the filigree technique. It is a precise process in which fine wires are twisted, shaped and soldered together to form an intricate and durable structure.

The piece is sculpted on a plaster mould of the wearer’s ear, allowing the jewellery to follow the unique anatomy of the ear, resulting in a one of a kind piece.

To begin the process, please, book a studio visit at my studio in Tallinn.

    The Process

The process begins with a studio appointment at my workspace in Tallinn. It is a chance to look through example pieces and get familiar with the materials, talk about your ideas.

I then take an impression of your ear using dental alginate, a gentle material commonly used for medical moulds. The impression itself only takes a few minutes as the material sets quickly. From this impression, I cast a detailed plaster replica of your ear.

The jewellery is sculpted directly on this model so the piece curves and rests exactly along your ear’s anatomy. Once the piece is completed, you return for a second studio visit to try it on and make any final adjustments.

    The Experience

Because every ear is different, the ear piece is shaped following the unique anatomy of your ear, becoming something that belongs specifically to you.

This close relationship with the body lets the jewellery sit on the ear securely without moving or pinching. When worn, the piece feels almost seamless like an extension of the body. It can easily be forgotten while it’s on the ear, yet its absence is felt once removed.

Despite its comfort, the piece is striking and a true conversation starter. Bold in form yet gentle on the body.

The process itself entails moments of wonder: seeing your own ear as a plaster mould is a rare and curious experience. It also allows the wearer to become part of the making, not only through the form of the ear but through the wishes shared along the way.
